MARIGOLD

The African Marigolds are blooming in abundance around our garden, but we are still awaiting the french variety. Our children love to play with these. In this tutorial we share how to make a cheerful garland with these large blooms. If you are working with the smaller French variety we like to pin them up by inserting the needle through one side of the receptacle to the other.

Marigolds are wonderful garden companions as they are known to deter many insects, deer, and rodents. In addition the roots produce a substance that is harmful to root nematodes. They are one of the first flowers open to enjoy and bloom generously throughout the season.
